Planning Committee

The Flower City Work Camp Planning Committee meets monthly to pray, share information, discuss issues, brainstorm solutions and ask and answer questions. Each church interested in participating in Flower City Work Camp is expected to have a representative at the Planning Committee meeting each month. Failure to fulfill this expectation may jeopardize your church’s participation in Work Camp.

All meetings will be held on the second Wednesday of each month at Hope Lutheran Church (1301 Vintage Lane). The meetings are held from noon to 1:00 p.m.

2007-2008 Meeting Dates
October 10
November 14
December 12

Churches interested in participating in Work Camp must first submit a completed Church Application Form no later than November 1. This application form will ensure that we know that you are aware of the expectations for a Flower City Work Camp church and that we have accurate contact information to allow us to convey the many important pieces of information and details to the right person.

By returning your Church Application Form, your church agrees to fully participate in Work Camp. This participation includes:

• Providing one Site Leader, Sidewalk Club Leader or Basketball Camp Coach for every four students your church plans to send to Work Camp (These applications are due by December 31 – start recruiting today!)
• Providing at least one male and one female Base Leader to supervise your students at Home Base each night of Camp (due by March 1)
• Recruiting additional adult volunteers to serve in the various Work Camp ministries (materials acquisition [gofers]; nursing, food preparation; prayer walks, etc.) (due by March 1)
• Providing the required insurance information (due by March 1)
• Promoting Work Camp among your youth and your congregation (Work Camp is a ministry of your whole church!)
• Joining with others from around our area to bathe this ministry in prayer
• Providing a Church Representative to participate in the monthly Work Camp planning meetings
