Typical Day

 A Day in the Life of Flower City Work Camp

Work Camp begins with registration on Monday evening and campers remain at Camp through the closing session of praise and testimony on Friday morning.  In between, teams will be going out into the city to serve, started off each day with praise and worship and ending each day with teaching to help them process what they are experiencing and to learn more about what lessons God to teach them through their service.

 

Here’s a typical day at Flower City Work Camp:

6:30 a.m.         Breakfast
7:30 a.m.         Morning Praise & Worship
8:00 a.m.         Depart for Worksites
8:30 a.m.         Sidewalk Clubs get together to prepare music, lessons and drama for the day;

Worksites arrive at their homes and begin preparing for a day of work, which might include cleaning out basements, putting up drywall, painting, installing new windows, yard work, installing ceilings and flooring, bathroom repairs, new kitchen cabinets and counters, etc;

Basketball Camps and Soccer Camps head out to the community center to begin passing out invitations and preparing for the day’s camp

10:30 a.m.   Prayer walk for some work sites; Sidewalk Clubs head out to their sites to pass out invitations and take a Prayer Walk through the neighborhoods in which they’ll be serving

12:00 p.m.   Lunch and devotions for work sites; Sidewalk Clubs host their first club of the day

1:00 p.m.       Worksites continue cleaning, repairing and installing
2:00 p.m.     Prayer walks for some Worksites
2:30 p.m.     Sidewalk Clubs host the second Club of the day
4:00 p.m.     Worksites begin cleanup to prepare to head back to Home Base

4:30 p.m.     Dinner is underway at Home Base; Sidewalk Clubs prepare to return to Home Base; free time until evening session for writing notes for Encouragement Envelopes, getting to know new friends, showers, etc.

7:00 p.m.     Evening session of worship, prayer, and teaching
9-10 p.m.   Free Time
10-11 p.m.   Heading to rooms/group devotionals
11:00 p.m.   Lights Out
